Wire-to-Board connector as direct contact
When it comes to using non-breakable connections on the PCB, crimp connections offer a high degree of mechanical stability. W+P offers a range of Wire-to-Board connectors as board-in solutions, which establish a permanent and simultaneously secure connection in the PCB through direct soldering into the PCB. For stabilisation on the PCB, all contacts are equipped with an additional retention function, in order to ease processing.
The contact material consists of copper alloy for all series. The Wire-to-Board contacts are available in various pitch options: 2mm, 2.50mm and 3.96mm, in straight and right-angled formats. Cross-sections of AWG 30 to AWG 16 can be used, depending on the series. The current rating ranges from 1 A to 7 A, whilst the number of dip solder contacts varies between 02 and 16. Safe functionality is guaranteed within a temperature range of -25°C to +85°C.
All further technical data can be found in the corresponding data sheets for the series 523, 524, 571, 572, 573 and 593: wppro.com/serie-xxx
One crimp single contact series (600) completes the board-in product range: A copper alloy with a contact surface of tin over nickel is available as contact material here. Designed for a cable cross-section of AWG 22 – 18, or AWG 28 – 24, the series can be used for bore diameters of 1.0 to 1.2mm (option 10) and 1.8mm (option 18).
